This one of a kind flower blooms in the heat of the summer. These firecracker shaped blooms draw the eyes of many pollinators from bees to butterflies. Their inner petals have a sticky, sweet nectar that is a favorite food of hummingbirds. They grow best in large groups of assorted flowers. Some folk tales say they are the most social plant in the garden, and help other flowers bloom.
